From N8 Wiki
When first installing N8*, you may experience some trouble with the installer for the game. Occasionally, it may seems like you are having a problem with getting it to work, but it's actually working as intended!

After downloading the installation .exe, locate it and double click it. Upon doing so you will get asked to verify the application. Press run.
Depending on your operating system, you may be asked for administrative permissions, so accept those as well.
After reading and navigating through the next couple of screens, you will come to the one on the left of this text. Check to make sure all of the information is as you wanted it, and click install. You should see a progress bar which well tell you what you are currently installing. If you don't, there's always a possibility that the installer has
fake froze, so just let it run and hope it installs. If it's been 10 minutes or longer, you may need to restart the installer.
After all of the game files have been installed, you may need to install a couple of other assets in order for the game to be able to run. These are DirectX, and the .NET framework. Churn through the dialog screens and install these applications or you won't be able to play!
Now that you have installed everything, this screen will greet you with immense satisfaction. You can now play N8* as long as the server is currently online (which it usually is)! Hooray!
