[edit] Introduction
- I am thinking about playing the game. From the video, things look a bit complicated... where do I learn how to do everything?
First of all, things are much less complicated then they appear. Second of all, there is a guide that pops up when you log in. This guide can be accessed by typing "guide" in the console.
- What are the system requirements?
Although they are quite low, we are not 100% sure what are the exact minimum requirements. You will need Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 or higher though. These are approximate, yet unofficial and not fully tested min/recommended specs:

- 512 MB RAM
- Windows XP, Vista, or 7 OS
- 25MB Space
- Graphics Card with shader model 2.0

- Oh, crud, I closed the guide. How ever will I find out how to jump? HOW EVER WILL I FIND OUT HOW TO MINE FOR FISH???
If you need to go back into the guide that you saw at the tutorial, press F1 to get into the console, and type GUIDE into the console.
- The chat is kinda all screwy to me.
When the small rectangular bar in the chat typing message box is blinking, this means you are chatting. When it is solid, this means you are not. To make it not blink, just make sure it is empty, and press enter once. To chat, press enter when the bar is solid, it should start flashing, and you can now type. Press enter to send the message, which should make the bar solid again.
P.S. If the small chat typing bar is still blinking and you can't get it to stop, after backspacing all the letters away, just click once on the chatbox. It should stop you from typing into the chat box.
- The camera is stuck in one position...
Hold right click and move your mouse around to move the camera. It is a nice full 3D camera movement you've got.
- Ok, what about zooming in/out?
Use the middle mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out smoothly, with ease.
- What are some of the basic controls of the game?
Press F3 to get into build menu, F1 to get into the console, F2 to access the radio, F4 to get into your inventory, press E to put in/ take out your sword. Press F to attack. You can kill other people that aren't in a safe zone, and also you can kill static mode shrines. Type HELP in console to learn about more things.
- So, this game seems kinda unique and different... what exactly are people supposed to do?
There are three main paths you can take, but you are certainly not limited to follow them.
- 1] Chat it up with all the peoples
- 2] Battle monsters and bosses
- 3] You always could go around looking for STATIC mode areas of other peoples land, and find their land. As long as their area is in static mode, you can attack and conquer their shrine, giving you their area, any tokens they didn't take out of their shrine. This also allows you to build there.
- How do I build?
If you own a cell and it is currently in Build or Locked mode, then you will have access to the Bucket menu. This let's you place blocks in your cell. Also, if you are a friend of the cell owner you are able to build in that cell as well (as long as the cell is in Build or Locked mode). To open up the Bucket menu, press F3 or click on the icon. To simply place a block in the cell, drag the selected piece you wanted replicated into your cell and release inside your cell. - Other people have different colors, why not me?
Well, you can change your colors with multiple options. In Safe Castle there are a few shrines. Go into one shrine and you can change colors. Or, just conquer a shrine and walk into it, and hit the Change Colors option. There is a whole plethora of colors and patterns to choose from!
- I press space and start crouching. I just want to jump!!
When you press space and crouch, just click somewhere near you with the X as your cursor. This means you can jump there. AIf you don't have the Megajump powerup, a bar will appear on screen that charges you jump. An arrow will indicate the direction of travel.

- I see people chatting in the chat box and see characters scattered through the main area, but... who is who? How do I tell?
Shift click a player to see their name.
- Who is this Aion dude?
Well, in case you didn't know, Aion is the main developer of this game. He is also the head admin and founder.
- How do I private message or whisper my friend?
The whisper feature is there but not too great at the moment, to whisper, just go into the console with F1 and type 'w[PLAYER NAME] [MSG]' replacing [PLAYER NAME] with the person's name, and [MSG] with the message you want to send them. I am sure this system will be made much better as the game evolves and other bugs are fixed.

- How come I try to attack someone, and they keep bleeding, but they don't die. They is a hax0r?
Probably not. You are most likely in a SAFE Zone, which is where you spawn at when you get out of the small tutorial map. You can not hurt people in the SAFE Zone. To check if you are in the SAFE Zone, check for the words 'SAFE Zone' in the top right of your client... also, the owner should say 'Owner: Aion'.
- What is this red stuff coming out of me? Why is this guy slashing his sword at me?
Well, outside of a SAFE zone, you can get attacked... and attack back. Press E to take out your weapon, and F to attack. If the blood flows out of the other guy, he is hurt. If it flows out of you, you are hurt. There is only so much pain a 8bit 3D person can endure until they die and respawn at their home.

- How do I get my own area?
To obtain a cell, simply find one that is in Static mode or alternitavely, wait in a cell that is currently in Building mode for whatever time is allocated by the timer for it to switch into Static mode. Once it is in Static, you MUST attack the shrine itself with either a sword or a bomb. When you do so, the shrine will start shaking and after a few seconds of continued attacks the shrine will become yours. - Where can I check to see if a place is STATIC so I can destroy them and make them cry?
Play nice now... anyways... just look at the bottom right part of your client for 'STATIC Mode'... or sometimes it will be in a different mode.
- Why are people stupid enough to put their own area in STATIC Mode?
Well, once again, be nice... and, for every 10 minutes your area is in static mode, you get 1 more token. Tokens are explained a bit further down in this FAQ
- How do I change my home, so I respawn there instead?
If you enter a shrine that you or a friend owns, there should be a "Set Home" button at the top of your screen.
- Some weirdo encased their whole shrine in a square and it is impossible to get to it. Where do I report them??
Well, you don't report them. Go to the Arcade and pay 10 tokens for a bomb. Use the bomb as close to the blocks that are encasing the shrine as possible. As long as the area is in static mode, many blocks around the bomb will be destroyed, thus allowing you to get into their shrine and conquer it!

- How do I get more tokens?
There are multiple ways to get tokens. Every 10 minutes a shrine you own is in Static, it generates one token. You can also get tokens from killing monsters, and trading fish with the Fishman.
- I have tokens in my shrine. How do I get them out, and what are they used for?
Just drag the token icon from your shrine into your inventory to put them in your inventory. Tokens are used in the main castle to buy things.
- What about the hats and weapons I see in the video? How do I get those?
It is possible to obtain hats and weapons through contests and events hosted by Gods or DemiGods. However, if there is no event going that currently does not have either of those as a prize, you may always purchase items in the shop. The shop is currently located in the blue Arcade building in the Safe zone, Newb Castle.

- WTF?! I am stuck!! HELP!
Calm down...If you get stuck, press space and click on a small piece of land around you to jump away from where you are and onto that space, and you should become unstuck.
- I can't jump to the area I am trying to get to.
If there is a semi transparent red wall in front of you, that means the block you are trying to get into is currently loading. It takes a short amount of time, and will turn blue when it is loaded and you can pass through.
- I am super stuck and there is no way I can get unstuck.
Press F1 to go into the console and type HOME, then press enter. You will get teleported to your home, which is either the starting castle or where you last saved yourself. Alternately type in SAFE to head back to Newb Castle.
- How do I delete a block that I have made?
Ctrl+Click the block and move it into your bucket (Press F2).
- I'm lost, how do I get back to Safe Castle?
To just teleport back to Safe Castle, type SAFE into the console. You can also use the X,Y Cell coordinates to find your way around, and bring up a compass over your head by hovering over the Cell Info bar.
- OMG there's and item on the ground! How do I get it?
Items can be picked up simply by clicking on them.
- How do I use Vending\Arcade Machines?
Stand near one. Open your Inventory [F4], then drag and drop the Token Icon onto the machine you want to use.
- I just crashed with some crappy error. Why??
At this point in beta you're going to find bugs. The very best thing to do is to sign up on the Forums and make a post about it in the Bugs section.[1]
